Dear Friend,
Have you ever felt distant from the life you were meant to be living? The Bible tells us about someone who felt just like that—someone who thought they had wandered too far away to ever come back home.
In Luke 15, Jesus tells a parable about a young man who demanded his inheritance from his father and left home. He spent all he had on reckless living and soon found himself broke, hungry, and working in shameful conditions. He was very much out of place. He thought about his father’s house, where even his father’s hired men had more than enough, and were living in better conditions than he was now.
After coming to his senses, he made a decision to return home—only looking to be one of the hired men. But what happened next is incredible. I’m so glad he took the first step towards home.
The Bible says, “While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him” (Luke 15:20).
The father didn’t scold his son or make him earn his place back. He welcomed him home with open arms, celebrated his return, and received him as a beloved son.
He misses you.
This story isn’t just about a wayward son; it’s about us—and the incredible love of our Heavenly Father. No matter how far you’ve gone away or what you’ve done, God is waiting for you with open arms. He’s not angry or ashamed of you. He loves
you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for your sins and make a clear path for you to come home to Him.
This is your invitation.
You don’t have to clean yourself up or try fix all your problems before you reconcile with God. Like the prodigal son, all you have to do is take the first step, and He will meet you right where you are to receive you. Jesus says, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
If you’re ready to take that first step, pray this prayer:
Father, I come to You. I believe that Jesus is your Son, and by giving His life as a ransom, He paid my debts. Thank you. I believe He rose again to give me new life in Him. Thank you for receiving me, cleansing me, and making me new. Jesus, I believe and confess You are my Lord, and I receive you as my Savior. I invite your Holy Spirit to live, rule and reign in my heart. Thank You for loving me and welcoming me home. In Jesus’ name, amen.
What you just did is a big deal!
We’d love to hear your story, pray with you, connect with you, encourage you, and even help you grow in faith. Let us know!
